The Mystery of Anubis- by Satyajit Ray; PART-1 (translation by Swastik)

Who was on the call Feluda??
I realized as if i had committed a crime, cause Feluda was busy in his schedule of Yoga. Let me tell you Feluda started Yoga since a month. Nowadays he lets himself busy for half an hour doing all the yoga position. He even does Sirshashan. But i have to admit the fact that, he is now much more fit than he was before. I can say that this Yoga thing is actually helping him a lot. Anyways, coming to the point, after asking the question I just looked at the watch to see the time and after seven and half minutes later Feluda replied to me saying, 'You don't know that person'. After waiting for seven and half minutes, getting a reply like this, really irritated me. There are so many people i don't know, at-least he could tell me his name. Therefore, with a serious tone i asked him, do you know that person ?
Feluda, replied to me saying, 'I didn't knew that person earlier, but now I know'.
I am spending my puja vacation and my father is out of station as he is in his office tour at Jamshedpur. Now I am staying with Feluda and mom. This time around we are not going anywhere for a trip, as I always love spending the Durga puja at Kolkata. And it gets more fascinating when Feluda is around with you. Lets me tell you that, now a days Feluda had gained quite a recognition as a private investigator (detective) and who knows we might get some cases to solve, since Feluda gets quite frequent calls to solve mysteries and crimes. And I have always been his satellite in this respect. Sometimes i feel insecure, when i see his popularity, as i fear someday he might say, that i dont want to take you as an assistant. But i am thankful to god that, i didn't face this situation till date. I feel there is one more reason that he accepts me as his assistant, since i am too young and people wont think he is a detective when he is with me, which is actually a great advantage for him.

Suddenly Feluda asked me, 'I feel you are very eager to know, who was the person on the other side of the call ?'

The Baker Street Boys

Since childhood i have always been fascinated by the stories by the storytellers. I have always admired the work of those people, the genius mind who could create life which are actually imagination or we call it fiction. I used to get amazed and motivated, as their imagination could cross the boundaries which we could not even think of. Today i thought of expressing my views on such a remarkable character which is more popular than the creator itself.

Yes, i am talking about SHERLOCK HOLMES and DR. JOHN WATSON (The Baker Street Boys).

Talking about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson and their life in 221 B Baker street, London. Let me write about something about Sir. Arthur Conan Doyle. Sir. Doyle, a British writer and a doctor who created Sherlock Holmes, born on 22-MAY-1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland, started his career as a physician from 1876 till 1881. While studying medicine he met Dr. Joseph Bell, which is actually the inspiration of Sherlock Holmes. He understood the art of deduction which Dr. Bell had and he used this method to identify the disease in his patients. Doyle was really inspired by the talent of Dr. Bell and finally he applied in his literary creation which is now known as Sherlock Holmes.

Starting with the story named as 'A study in Scarlet', Dr.Watson and Sherlock Holes made their first appearance in 1886. Since then  the masterpiece carried its legacy till date. The characters he created where nothing but marvelous.

Well let me talk something about my Sherlock Holmes, my likes and dislikes about the person. First of all i would like to tell that Sherlock is not a fictitious character for me, rather a person who could think and solves crimes like a puzzle. The cleverest man ever, his thinking his deduction, his way of seeing the world have always inspired me.

NICOLA TESLA - A SILENT GENIUS

When we talk about genius personalities we come across so many names. But its very difficult to understand their level of hard-work , thinking , perception. As a child i used to think about those people and i wondered, what is the special entity within themselves , which put those people in a category which we call GENIUS.
Talking about a person named NICOLA TESLA.  A genius , who has given so much to this world, but he remained till now. We talk about so many scientist and compare their greatness with others. If a debate i thrown at you asking , Whom you consider a great scientist or inventor till date. You will come across many names , but very few people will think about him.
When i was in my school, i studied a chapter on " MAGNETIC INDUCTION AND MAGNETIC FLUX DENSITY " the unit for magnetic flux density was "T" or "Tesla". So that was the first introduction i got about this person. Later when i looked into more detail, i found something else.

                                                               NICOLA TESLA

A Serbian American , born around 9th and 10th July 1856 around midnight during a fierce lightning storm. It was considered a bad omen according to family legend. His midwife stated that he will be a child of darkness, but her mother had the perception that, he will be a child of light. As the days passed this man turned out to be someone who pioneered the modern ALTERNATING CURRENT. He was considered as "the mad scientist" and a "futurist". A man who developed smartphone technology more than 100 years back in 1901, which is the current phenomena now-a-days. He was known for his photographic memory, who could memorize books and images instantly. He used to dream machines and inventions which is very unusual and remarkable phenomena for any human being. Just think of some modern marvels which we use now-a-days. starting from the alternating current(A.C.) to wireless communication, diagnostic X Rays to locating ships and missiles using a RADAR, Nicola Tesla has contributed immensely to this world. He is the one who led the way for other scientist  to take fame, but he remained in the darkness.
